堪祖仁波切與弟子對話
Khentrul Sonam Gyeltshen talking to disciple:
弟子問：一切有情眾像狗狗，是人類的朋友，他們能否懂佛法呢？我們怎麼幫它們呢？
All the sentient being like pet dogs, how can they understand Buddhism? How can we help them?
仁波切答：狗或一切的動物只要有感情的動物，身為佛教徒的我們，就是不能傷害它們。它們無法像我們一樣能理解及思維無常及佛法的道理；而大部份的動物，更無法控制自己的行為及命運。所以身為人的我們是非常幸運的。我們必須珍惜這機會，好好學佛法以求證悟佛性。而將我們修法的功德，多迴向給一切有情眾。這也是對它們最直接的幫助。
雖然是狗狗，命運也有很大的不同。有的家狗，受到主人的照顧，日子過得比有些窮苦國家的人民更好。有些則淪落街頭，生病還被追打。這也是不同狗狗，各有各自的因果須承受。
平時修法，持咒，放佛樂，一切有情眾聽到佛音，對他們都是種下佛緣的種子。也是對它們的幫助。希望它們來世也有才為人身的機會，並能聴聞佛法。
Renpoche replied: All kind of animal and insects, as Buddhism practitioner we can’t harm them. They can’t control their life or even behavior so it is not easy for them to learn Buddhism like human being. This is why as human being, we need to cherish more of our golden opportunity and to learn and practice Buddhism in our limited life. We can dedicate our practice to them and all sentient being and hoping they have chance to practice Buddhism next life when they can be human being.
Some dogs have good life and being taken care by their master. This because they have good karma in previous life. Some dongs maybe be sick and ill and still being beaten or chased. This is all because of different karma.
Whenever we chant or do puja, if those sentient being has chance to hear those Buddhism mantra, music or voice, it will all help them and plant a good dharma seeds in their mind. There is a better chance to help them in future life to become human being and are able to learn Buddhism in the future life. This is what we can do to help them.
